Terms for the Doveline Academy private beta

1. Operator and beta status

Doveline Academy is currently operated by David Shlivko and Olga Brodskaya. Doveline Learning, LLC is pending formation in California. These Terms will be updated before the LLC accepts accounts or assumes operation of the service.

Doveline is a private beta. Features may change, be interrupted, or be removed, and beta data may be deleted under the retention policy. Do not rely on the beta as the sole copy of important material.

2. Eligibility and authority

Doveline is not intended for children under 13. You must be at least 13 to use the service. If you are under 18, you may use Doveline only with permission from a parent or legal guardian. By requesting or activating an account, an under-18 user confirms that this permission has been obtained.

If you use Doveline for an organization, you confirm that you have permission to act for that organization. Instructors may not enroll students from an actual school or university course unless the institution has authorized that use.

3. Accounts and invitations

• Provide accurate information and keep it current.
• Protect passwords, passkeys, authentication codes, invitations, and course access keys.
• Do not share an account or impersonate another person.
• Notify Doveline promptly if an account or invitation may have been compromised.
• Use only the roles, courses, records, and administrative functions you are authorized to access.

4. Your content and responsibilities

You retain ownership of content you submit. You grant Doveline a limited, nonexclusive license to host, reproduce, process, display, and transmit that content only as needed to provide, secure, support, and improve the service according to the Privacy notice.

You are responsible for ensuring that:

• You have the rights and permissions needed for videos, transcripts, course material, and other content you submit.
• You do not download or copy videos from YouTube or another platform for upload to Doveline unless that platform expressly permits the download and you have all necessary rights to use the content. When appropriate, you use Doveline's supported YouTube-link option instead.
• Your content and use do not violate privacy, intellectual-property, confidentiality, accessibility, or other applicable obligations.
• You do not upload secrets, payment-card information, health records, government identifiers, or other sensitive information not requested by Doveline.
• For unofficial instruction, you do not upload institution-controlled education records or represent the activity as approved by a school or university.

5. Acceptable use

You may not:

• Break the law, violate another person's rights, harass others, or distribute harmful or deceptive content.
• Attempt to bypass access restrictions, security controls, usage limits, or administrative controls.
• Probe, scan, disrupt, reverse engineer, scrape, or overload the service except through a separately authorized security test.
• Upload malware or use Doveline to generate spam, phishing, fraud, or abusive automated traffic.
• Use another person's personal information or education records without lawful authorization.
• Use the service or its outputs to create advertising profiles or make high-impact decisions without appropriate human review.

6. AI features

AI output can be incomplete, inaccurate, or inappropriate for a particular learner. Users must review output before relying on or publishing it. Doveline Assistant is an educational aid and is not a substitute for an instructor's judgment, professional advice, emergency assistance, or independent verification.

Doveline does not use Student Data to train general-purpose AI models. Additional processing details appear in the Privacy notice and Subprocessors list.

7. Third-party services

Doveline uses providers for hosting, AI features, and email, and can display instructor-selected YouTube videos. Those services may have their own terms and privacy practices. Details appear on the Subprocessors page.

8. Suspension and termination

You may stop using Doveline and, when eligible, request verified account deletion through account settings. Doveline may restrict or terminate access when reasonably necessary to protect users or the service, respond to legal obligations, address a material breach of these Terms, or end the beta. When practical, Doveline will give notice and an opportunity to export or remove content before a non-urgent termination.

9. Beta disclaimers and responsibility

To the extent permitted by law, the beta is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or suitable for a particular academic or institutional purpose. Doveline does not exclude warranties, remedies, or liabilities that applicable law does not allow to be excluded.

To the extent permitted by law, Doveline will not be responsible for indirect, incidental, special, exemplary, or consequential damages arising from private-beta use. This limitation does not apply where prohibited by law or to liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

10. Changes and contact

Material changes will be dated and presented before taking effect when additional notice is appropriate. If you do not agree to updated Terms, stop using the service and request account deletion.
